The 2017 Pokémon World Championships will be held from August 18 to 20, 2017 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California in the United States.

The competition comprises three tournaments: one for the video games Pokémon Sun and Moon, one for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and one for Pokkén Tournament.

On August 18 (Friday), Pokkén Tournament players can participate in the Last Chance Qualifier tournament to win one of the remaining seats in the Pokkén Tournament World Championships. Then, the 2017 Pokkén Tournament World Championships will take place on August 19 (Saturday), finishing with the grand finals on Saturday night, where the prize pool will be $20,000. Players will be competing using the Wii U version of Pokkén Tournament.

There will be no Last Chance Qualifier for the Video Game Championships or the Trading Card Game; players must qualify for these tournaments by earning enough Championship Points at official events held throughout the year.

It was originally announced that the 2017 Pokémon World Championships would be held in Anaheim at the 2016 World Championships, but the dates and venue were not previously known.

The Pokémon World Championships have been held in Anaheim once before, for the 2006 World Championships, which at the time was exclusively a Pokémon Trading Card Game event.
