The Kanto X Alola Regional Rumble Wi-Fi tournament has been announced. Players may register between midnight UTC on March 9 until 11:59 p.m. UTC on March 16. The competition will run from midnight UTC on March 17 until 11:59 p.m. UTC on March 19. There will be 50,000 spots available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Players born in or after 2002 will be in the Junior/Senior Division. Players born in or before 2001 will be in the Master Division. Junior/Senior Division players will only be able to battle from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. local time. The results will be announced some time in April.

Players may only use Pokémon in the Kanto Pokédex and Alola Pokédex. Participants will battle using the Pokémon Sun and Moon games. Participants who win or lose three battles will receive a Pidgeotite and Steelixite. This competition will use the Single Battles format. Pokémon cannot hold Mega Stones in this tournament. Mewtwo, Mew, Zygarde, Cosmog, Cosmoem, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, and Magearna cannot be used in this competition.

Three Pokémon of the six in the Battle Team will be used in each battle. All Pokémon will be automatically set to level 50 for this competition. Each battle will last a maximum of 10 minutes. Players will have 90 seconds to choose which three Pokémon they will battle with. Players will have 45 seconds to switch Pokémon or use an attack. Participants may battle 15 times a day for a maximum of 45 battles.
