The recent 8.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Japan this week has affected everyone, including several Pokémon officials. Midori Harada, an artist for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, has tweeted that she has been stuck in an elevator for about three days.

Ken Sugimori, illustrator of the artwork for Pokémon games, has also tweeted that he is stuck at the Naha airport.

After traveling March 10 and 11 to Okinawa for business travel, I have not suffered. The flight was cancelled on March 11, and unable to fly. Presently waiting at the Naha airport since cancellation

Despite numerous reports on various social networking websites, Pokémon creator Satoshi Tajiri is still alive and is well.

Nintendo of American has also released a tweet stating:

Thanks for your concern! During the earthquake no one at Nintendo in Japan was injured and there was no apparent structural damage.
