==Swoobat correction==
You mentioned you didn't know of a bat species that employs echolocations or calls during courtship. Well I do. The Hammerhead Bat (''Hypsignathus monstrosus'') is a very large species of African bat. Highly sexually dimorphic, the males have massive noses and lips which they use to make their honking mating calls.
Males try to attract females by hanging from tree branches, trumpetting, and vigorously flapping their wings. In some populations, the males gather in leks; in such situations, less than 10% of the males will mate with about 3/4 of the females.
Sounds like Swoobat to me :P
