As a result of the release of this patch, {{m4|Curse|String Shot|Forest's Curse|Power Trick}} may now be used in the Video Game Championships once again. The moves were temporarily banned due a bug that was causing game crashes in link battles that was believed to be related to these moves.


A new software update for {{bp|Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon}}, version 1.2, became available for download on Feb. 6, 2018. These updates are available for {{bp|Nintendo 3DS}}, {{bp|Nintendo 3DS XL}}, {{bp|New Nintendo 2DS XL}}, and {{bp|Nintendo 2DS}}. You have to be connected to the Internet to be able to download this update. Make sure that you perform a System Update, so your 2DS/3DS is the latest version, before going to {{bp|Nintendo eShop}} to download the Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon update. When opening the game, the update should apply to your game. Nintendo Support has said that after downloading the update, any {{bp|Battle Videos}} a player has saved up until now '''cannot be played or made public'''.
