As seen in recent commercials for the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games, where players are shown talking to each other while battling over the Nintendo DS WiFi network, Nintendo has announced the Sept. 14 release of a earphone/microphone for the DS.

Thusfar this earpiece has only been confirmed for use with four games: Metroid Prime Hunters, Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl and DS, a new game which is to be released on the same day as the headset.

The headset will retail in Japan for ¥1,200 (approx. US$10.20).
