The YouTube channel for the fan-based Pokémon music project Pokémon Reorchestrated was terminated on Feb. 16, 2016 due to a series of takedown notices issued directly by The Pokémon Company International.

Takedown notices were first issued on Feb. 1, against videos in the "Kanto Symphony" series, Pokémon Reorchestrated's first album of cover songs. The takedown notices did not specify precisely what the infringing content was, only that the videos contained copyrighted content owned by The Pokémon Company International. The Pokémon Company International did not respond to requests for clarification sent by Pokémon Reorchestrated. These takedown notices resulted in the YouTube channel receiving two YouTube copyright strikes.

Licensing fees are paid directly to copyright holders via Pokémon Reorchestrated's distributor Loudr, who supports artists in licensing and legally distributing music to respect the rights of composers and publishers.

On Feb. 16, a further takedown notice resulted in the Pokémon Reorchestrated YouTube channel receiving a third copyright strike, and thus be terminated.

Only the YouTube channel of Pokémon Reorchestrated has received any such notices; the content is still available on Pokémon Reorchestrated's other platforms.
