Ranch upgrade remains Japan-exclusive
|
Information regarding the future of My Pokémon Ranch has come to light following an announcement on the Pokémon.com mailbag.
My Pokémon Ranch was released in early 2008, and is compatible with Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Following the release of Pokémon Platinum later that year, an update was released for Japanese players. International players had been waiting to update their games, but an recent announcement may see them waiting forever. Pokémon.com's mailbag (an official publication usually published twice a month) today posted the following question and answer:
- Question
- "I am wondering if there will be a Pokémon™ Platinum Version update for Pokémon™ Ranch?"
- Answer
- "I'm afraid there are currently no plans to make My Pokemon Ranch compatible with Pokémon Platinum Version, but we'll let you know if anything changes.
The update, available for download in Japan since November 5, 2008, allowed the Platinum-exclusive forms for Giratina, Shaymin, and Rotom to be stored on My Pokémon Ranch, along with several other new features.
No word has come from Nintendo of America on the matter, and some fans are discounting this announcement as unofficial. However, according to the article, any further announcement was to be made only if there was a change.
