To commemorate the Lunar New Year holidays that start from February 18th to 20th, Nintendo Korea hosted an event that requires a new purchase of a Nintendo 3DS XL or a Nintendo 2DS.

Players who purchase a Nintendo 3DS XL or a Nintendo 2DS in Korea can pick one of four chosen 3DS softwares, which will be given for free. The four softwares are 슈퍼 마리오 3D 랜드 (Super Mario 3D Land), 마리오 카트7 (Mario Kart 7), 튀어나와요 동물의 숲 (Animal Crossing: New Leaf), and 몬스터 헌터4 (Monster Hunter 4).

Also, a new 3DS XL or 2DS purchase will give the customer a 'lucky scratch card'. Cards will gave a serial number which the person will submit on the official website.

Among the prizes are special editions of Nintendo 3DS XL; one features the official art of Primal Groudon and the other features the official art of Primal Kyogre. It was announced that only ten consoles of these special edition Nintendo 3DS XL exist - ten winners will win.

Other prizes include a Pikachu blanket (100 winners), a Pikachu smartphone pouch (100 winners), a set of three Animal Crossing credit card cases (100 winners), a randomly chosen Pokemon XY plush (100 winners), and a 10,000-won Nintendo eShop point card (1000 winners).

Nintendo Korea will also pick 100 people out of those that failed to win the above prizes. These 100 players will win a 40-cm Pikachu plush.

The event started on February 9th, and will end on March 1st, 2015.
