Ryan Reynolds, most famous for his role Deadpool in last year's winter blockbuster, has been cast as the title role as Pikachu in the upcoming Detective Pikachu, Bulbanews has learned.

Sources say that, in addition to providing voice talents, Reynolds will also portray the character via motion capture.
