Legendary Entertainment cast Ken Wanatabe in a role specifically designed for the movie. In the movie Pikachu, a species of Pokémon, appears a Detective Pikachu, a differing variation of Pokemon from the Pikachu set. Ken Wanatabe will appear Ryan Reynolds' starring role as Detective Pikachu as Detective Yoshida. Wanatabe has worked with Legendary Entertainment on Godzilla and the Upcoming Godzilla: King of Monsters. Wanatabe is an Oscar-nominated actor for his work on the last samurai, Has appeared in Batman Begins, and is now also appearing in Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs.
