The 2014 April Friendly has been announced for international Global Link users. Pokémon X and Y players may register from midnight UTC on April 17 until 11:59 p.m. UTC on April 25. The competition will run from midnight UTC on April 25 until 11:59 p.m. UTC on April 28. Players must have a Pokémon X and Y game sync ID registered on the Global Link and be members of the Pokémon Trainer Club.

50,000 players will participate in this competition, with registration being on a first-come first-serve basis. Participants who were born in 1999 or later will be in the Junior/Senior Division. Participants who were born in 1998 or earlier will be in the Master Division. It is a Single Battles competition, with all Pokémon from the Kalos Pokédexes allowed to be used. Mewtwo, Yveltal, Xerneas, and Zygarde are eligible for this competition. Pokémon that were Poké Transferred from the Black and White and Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 games cannot be used.

Players must place their Pokémon in the Pokémon Battle Box on the in-game PC. All Pokémon above level 50 will be set to level 50 for the competition. Each battle will have a 30 minute time limit, and each player will have 90 seconds per turn to make a decision. Participants may only participate in 20 battles per day. The rankings will be released on May 1.
