Chikusei City police have arrested a Japanese man for distributing images of new Pokémon before their official release.


Anime News Network reports that 27-Year Old Makoto Sekiguchi was arrested this Tuesday by police from Chikusei City in Ibaraki Prefecture for allegedly using his mobile phone to take photographs of then-unreleased Pokémon ({{p|Janovy}}, {{p|Chaobu}} and {{p|Futachimaru}}) and then distributing them on the internet on 1st September 2010; 17 days before the official release of the Nintendo DS titles Pokémon Black and White Versions.
27-year-old company employee Matoko Sekiguchi has been charged with using his mobile phone to photograph then-unreleased Pokémon and sharing them online. The incident, which took place on Sept. 1, involved six pictures of {{p|Janovy}}, {{p|Chaobu}} and {{p|Futachimaru}}. The three Pokémon were scheduled to release seventeen days later in {{game|Black and White|s}}.


Although police did not release the source of the images, they did confirm that the images were from the October issue of {{bp|CoroCoro}} Magazine, which was due out on 15th September 2010.
