In collaboration with CD Media, Nintendo will begin operating in Greece and the Balkan region again on October 1, 2016. CD Media and Nintendo will collaborate to release future software titles and platforms.

Nintendo halted its operations in Greece on December 31, 2015, after local distributor Nortec Multimedia S.A. and Nintendo ended their relationship due to Greece's economic problems. The official website for Nortec Multimedia S.A. is no longer live.

The Balkan region includes Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Albania, Macedonia, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Serbia.
