Scans for the February 2012 issue of CoroCoro have surfaced on 2ch, revealing that the first crossover Pokémon game, Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition, is set for a March 17 Japanese release. As revealed by Amazon, which also revealed the game's boxart, the game has a retail price of ¥5800.

The CoroCoro scans, as translated by Dogasu on Bulbagarden Forums, also revealed the following:

  • The game will feature six-on-six battles described to be like chess or shogi. Each of six characters in the battle has one Pokémon under their command.
  • The bushou (武将), military commanders or generals, have Bushou Power, abilities that they can use to help their Pokémon in battle. These powers include increasing a Pokemon's movement and healing HP.
  • Ponigiri (from "Pokémon" and "onigiri") can help make Pokémon stronger.
  • Bushou can join with Pokémon from their home nations by linking with them.
  • Other bushou can be recruited.
  • The characters of the game come from various nations:
    • The player character is from the Hajime Nation (ハジメの国).
    • Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the one with an Infernape, is from the Kaen Nation (カエンの国). He is shown in the scan with a Monferno
    • Motonari, the one with a Servine, is from the Aoba Nation (アオバの国)
    • Motochika, the one with a Dewott, is from the Izumi Nation (イズミの国).

pokejungle adds the following:

  • Despite a different way of battling, Pokémon still maintain their types, including their resistances, immunities and weaknesses.
  • Players conquer castles by defeating leaders found in seventeen castles.
  • Players may battle other players using the Nintendo DS's wireless capabilities or Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
  • New allies, in the form of both Pokémon and leaders, are met by increasing one's power in the game.

Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition takes place during an era much like feudal Japan and is set in the Ranse region. The game was officially revealed Dec. 17, 2011 during the 2011 Jump Festa event.
