The official Japanese Pokémon website has unveiled the Hoopa event distribution for Japan. It will be distributed from July 18 until Sept. 30 via local wireless in theaters screening the 18th movie. It will also be distributed at pre-screenings of the movie, which will be held on July 5, 2015 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo and the Mido-kaikan Great Hall in the Osaka Prefecture.

Hoopa will be level 50, hold a Focus Sash, have the Ability Magician, and have the moves Hyperspace Hole, Psychic, Astonish and Nasty Plot. Hyperspace Hole is Hoopa Confined's signature move. It is in a Cherish Ball and has a Wishing Ribbon.

Hoopa will be available to download in Pokémon X and Y as well as Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, although it is unable to change into Hoopa Unbound in Pokémon X and Y.
