Details for the tournament that will be featuring Pikachu on all teams has been announced. Pokémon in the tournament must be unevolved and must be able to evolve. This tournament is only known to be open to Japan at this time. It is being held in commemoration of the "Pikachu Outbreak" event being held at Minato Mirai in Yokohama, Japan. Participants may register between 12 a.m. UTC on August 14 and 11:59 p.m. UTC on August 21. The competition will be held from 12 a.m. UTC on August 22 until 11:59 p.m. UTC on August 24. The rankings will be announced on August 29.

This tournament will be a Triple Battles tournament, with only Pokémon in the three Kalos Pokédexes eligible. Pokémon that are transferred from Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 cannot be used. Pokémon must be registered in the Battle Box on the PC. Each Pokémon will be set to level 30 and Eviolite may not be held. Each battle will last 30 minutes. Players will have 90 seconds to select each Pokémon and 60 seconds to select a move or change Pokémon during the battle. Players may battle 10 times per day. Participants who record a win, loss, or tie will receive a Light Ball.

Super Speed Double Battle

The Super Speed Double Battle tournament will be held from 12 a.m. UTC on August 8 until 11:59 p.m. UTC on August 10. Players may register between 12 a.m. on July 31 and 11:59 p.m. UTC on August 7. This tournament is open to all international players. 50,000 players may participate on a first-come first-serve basis. Players born in 1999 or later will be in the Junior Division. Players born in 1998 or earlier will be in the Masters Division. Participants in the Junior Division will only be able to battle between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. local time. The rankings will be announced on August 15.

Only Pokémon in the three Kalos Pokédexes can be used. Legendary Pokémon can not be used in this tournament. Pokémon that are transferred from Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 cannot be used. The Pokémon will be set to level 50 and they must be registered in the Battle Box on the PC. Only three Pokémon per battle will be used. Each battle will last 10 minutes. Players will have 15 seconds to select each Pokémon and 20 seconds to select a move or change Pokémon during the battle. Players may battle 10 times per day. Participants who record a win, loss, or tie will receive 1,000 Poké Miles.

Other competitions

The "Diamond Storm" competition will be featuring Diancie on every participant's team. Only Pokémon in the three Kalos Pokédexes may be used alongside Diancie. This tournament will be a Double Battles tournament. This tournament is only known to be open to Japan at this time. It will be held in September. The previously announced "Fairy Garden" tournament featuring only Fairy-type Pokémon will be held in September. It will be a Single Battles tournament. This tournament is open to all international players. Full details about the tournament will be announced later on.

The previously announced "Halloween Party" tournament featuring only Ghost-type Pokémon will be held in October. It will be a Single Battles tournament and each player must have a Super Size Gourgeist on their team. This tournament is open to all international players. Full details will be announced later on.
