Look, the guidelines of creating the article stated that I was supposed to quote the entire article on the section labelled article, and I thought I gave credit by listing the source of the article. I wasn't really sure how to implement it. If you wish to delete it, and you overrule my wish of it being kept in, fine. But at least explain how I'm supposed to write in the article section in such a way that doesn't indicate that I'm supposed to post the entire article on there. Weedle Mchairybug 00:04, 19 December 2010 (UTC) In fact, just to ensure you guys see what I'm talking about, I'll post the exact part of the guideline in here, and bold it:

Blurb

This, in most cases, will be the lead sentence or sentences of the article. These sentences should give the most important and relevant information of the article. In journalism/inverted pyramid style, this information is generally the who/what/where/when/why/how angle.

Example: According to a Media Create weekly rating, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky sold 141,771 in its first day on shelves. The game ranked above Sengoku Basara Battle Heroes and Mario & Luigi RPG 3.
Example: The Secret Key will be available over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and at Toys "R" Us stores in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. It will be available via Wi-Fi from April 20 to May 12 and at Toys "R" Us stores from April 19-26.
Article text
The article itself, with the blurb text first.

Alright. First, if you were to use the exact text with stating the source, make sure to add {{verbatim}} to it. However, lately we've been trying to phase out the use of the verbatim tag due to, well, people not knowing what verbatim is. -_-
When the guidelines mention article, it means the article written by the user, not the original source. Otherwise, the contents can be seen as plagiarism.
Basically, the blurb section is for a short summary of the article the user wrote, the article section the full article that the user wrote. The source is to be stated at the end of the article.
tl;dr - Whenever "article" is shown, it is meant to be of the Bulbanews-written article. The "source" is where the info came from.--immewnitythemew 02:37, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
I do know what "verbatem" means. It means stating what you've read word for word. Meaning you just copy your source without making any differences. Exact words, in other words.
Also, as to how it pertains to Pokémon, the bill proposition that was recently passed sees to eliminate pretty much all animes, mangas, and games in tokyo for anything that might be a virtual depiction of criminality or pornographic. The fact that the article in question, actually, two articles, would mention that most likely all animes will be banned would mean automatically that Pokémon itself will be banned as well. You can't say "all" with anime if you are going to exempt one or two of them. Weedle Mchairybug 02:49, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Reason why I chose not to delete this yet: It may affect the franchise someway, somehow in the future for all we know. Problems with the article:

  1. Terms: You need to explain them. For instance, what's the "DPJ"? There are too many terms most people would not know. Tell them to look them up? Bad answer.
  2. Pokémon: You really need to state how it affects the franchise. People might think it would not affect the franchise since it's not exclusive to Tokyo or something. The article talks about a lot of other things, but Pokémon was not really stated.

I don't really get if the article's a copy or not, but making your own article about a more complicated article is always better here. You have until the 23rd before the article will be deleted (unless someone decides to delete it beforehand). tc²₆tc26 03:09, 19 December 2010 (UTC) Well, I took care of the terms (I explained some terms by showing what some abbreviations stood for, attempted to explain what certain terms are, as well as linked to wikipedia some things that would be too complex to simply explain on the article itself) and I also explained how this might directly impact the Pokémon Company. If you have any other objections, feel free to mention them, and I'll attempt to fix them. Weedle Mchairybug 03:36, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

I wasn't implying that you didn't know what it meant, I was just stating why we are trying not to use it much. As for the changes you did, they'd be fine if it wasn't for the original being in verbatim. Now, the verbatim tag can't be used, because the text is no longer word for word. However, now you've brought this into plagiarism. How do you get yourself out? Write an article. You've done it before.--immewnitythemew 14:06, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
I'll attempt to rewrite it today, but I really don't get how this is plagiarism. Especially seeing how I actually sourced where this came from. If I intended to plagiarize, I would not have sourced it, claiming it was all my findings, not even source the material, since that's exactly how plagiarism works, which is stealing credit. Since I did credit the source, then logically, it shouldn't be considered plagiarism. However, like I said, I'll fix it today. Weedle Mchairybug 14:30, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
I've added an idea for the re-write. The only issue that I had before was that the source stated as the article writing should make the article verbatim. Just... make the article re-worded completely. We've gotten in trouble with semi-verbatim before.--immewnitythemew 15:20, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Rewrite it completely? Gee, that might be a pickle. I'll attempt it, but I get the feeling that making a complete rewrite will be impossible as some words may have to be copied. After all, the only way to completely rewrite the article is to make it so that it bears absolutely no resemblance to any other article not just in punctuation or words, but also style and all of the writing laws I had to go through in school. You may need to give an example so I can know what to do to make sure it fits at least your definition. Weedle Mchairybug 15:28, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
I put an example on the page that you can add on to if you want. Basically, only put what relates to what Bulbanews is about: Pokémon. Most of our readers don't care about Random Anime 1, Random Anime 2, and Random Manga 1. Just Pokémon.--immewnitythemew 15:34, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Deleted old article, and edited and elaborated upon the rewrite attempt. I think that should take care of things. If not, I guess it's back to work until you guys say it meets the standards. Weedle Mchairybug 16:40, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
I didn't mean for the U-Verse thing to be in there, but it might work if we make this an editorial. I'll leave this up to the higher-ups. Mew out.--immewnitythemew 03:29, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
