ExtraLives, a group of high school students who play video game marathons to raise money for charity, is currently holding a Pokémon marathon. Two teams are competing to see who can first complete Pokémon Red, Gold and Ruby or Pokémon Blue, Silver and Sapphire, respectively, while asking for monetary donations to Child's Play.

The marathon is being streamed live, with an accompanying chat room, on USTREAM. Viewers can donate via PayPal to Child's Play, a charity to benefit children who are in hospitals.

The marathon began on Wednesday. Following the Pokémon event, ExtraLives will hold a Sonic the Hedgehog marathon in July.
