The Flash Clash Wi-Fi competition has been announced. Players may register between midnight UTC on April 21 and 11:59 p.m. UTC on April 28. The competition will run from midnight UTC on April 29 until 11:59 p.m. UTC on May 1. The results will be announced some time in May. This competition is a 1 on 1 competition, where participants will have six Pokémon in the Battle Box, but will only bring one Pokémon to each battle. Players born in or before 2000 will be in the Master Division. Players born in or after 2001 will be in the Junior/Senior Division. Junior/Senior Division participants may only battle between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. local time.

The Legendary and Mythical Pokémon cannot be used in this tournament. Participants may only use the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games. Pokémon cannot be brought over from the Generation V games and used in this tournament. All Pokémon below and above level 50 will be automatically set to level 50. All battles will last a maximum of five minutes. Players will have 30 seconds to decide which Pokémon they will battle with. Players will have to attack or switch their Pokémon within 10 seconds every turn. Players may battle 20 times a day, for a total of 60. Pokémon may not hold a Focus Sash, Mega Stone, nor Soul Dew.
