New rules for the Pokémon Video Game Championships have been published.


Live Competitions are online competitions held through the {{bp|Pokémon Global Link}}. They are now back in {{bp|World Championships|VGC Premier Challenges}} and higher TPCi or {{bp|The Pokémon Company International}} events. TPCi operate in the West. Premier Challenges are small events in the Championship Series season and are for players of all abilities to try competitive Pokémon play in person.
Four moves are now prohibited from use in the Video Game Championships until the release of version 1.2 of {{bp|Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon}}. {{bp|The Pokémon Company International}} has identified these moves as causing a bug that results in games disconnecting. It has been announced that 4 specific moves are banned until the version 1.2 update. These will be banned effective immediately at all {{bp|Play! Pokémon}} Premier Events and continuing until the release of patch 1.2 for {{bp|Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon}}:

It has also been revealed to us by a judge that “Seemingly these are the moves most likely to cause the IR Disconnect glitch.
