The first Generation III Pokémon since the Halloween event will be available in Pokémon GO later this week. Additionally, weather will be added to the game, based on the weather occurring the real world at that location.

Starting later this week, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, and several more Generation III Pokémon will start appearing in Pokémon GO, with even more to appear over the next several weeks.

Additionally, a new dynamic weather system will be added to Pokémon GO. The in-game map will now include weather visuals depending on the weather in the real world. Different types of Pokémon will appear more often, depending on the weather; for example, Water-type Pokémon will appear more often during rain. Additionally, the weather will make some types of attacks more effective; for example, Fire Spin will be more effective on sunny days.
