The Generation Showdown Wi-Fi tournament has been announced. It will be a Double Battles tournament, using the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games. All participants will be able to receive 1,000 Poké Miles. Players may register between 2 p.m. JST on Feb. 5 and 8:59 p.m. JST on Feb. 13. The tournament will run from 9 a.m. JST on Feb. 13 until 8:59 a.m. JST on Feb. 16.

Players born in 2000 or later will be in the Junior Division. Players born in 1999 or earlier will be in the Master Division. There will be a maximum of 50,000 participants on a first-come first-serve basis. Every Pokémon in the National Pokédex with the exception of Mew, Celebi, Jirachi Deoxys, Phione, Manaphy Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, and Diancie may be used.

Players may only have a maximum of two of these Pokémon on their team: Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde. Players are allowed to use Pokémon that were Poké Transported from the Generation V games. Pokémon must be registered in the Battle Box on the PC. Pokémon will be set to level 50.

Each match will last a maximum of 30 minutes. Players will have 90 seconds to choose which Pokémon they will battle with and will have 60 seconds for each turn. Players may battle up to 10 times a day. The rankings will be released on Feb. 20. To receive the Poké Miles, each player will have to record a win or loss in one battle.
