Japan's Mainichi Daily News has reported that several Pokémon Trading Card Game events in Tokyo, Nagoya and Fukuoka have been canceled due to blackmail threats made against the Tokyo event that was supposed to happen April 12 and 13. A Saturday event in Nagoya and an April 29 event in Fukuoka have been canceled as a precaution.

The Metropolitan Police Department is conducting an investigation.

"We thought the safety of our customers is our top priority. We deeply apologize for the cancellation," a Pokémon Company spokesperson said.
