The final chapter from the adaptation of the {{bp|M16|16th}} Pokémon movie, 「神速のゲノセクト ミュウツー覚醒」 ''{{bp|ExtremeSpeed Genesect: Mewtwo Awakens (manga)|ExtremeSpeed Genesect: Mewtwo Awakens}}'' has surfaced. The manga is illustrated by {{bp|Momota Inoue}}, who also adapted the {{bp|Zoroark: Master of Illusions (manga)|13th}}, {{bp|White—Victini and Zekrom (manga)|14th}}, and {{bp|Kyurem VS. The Sword of Justice (manga)|15th}} movies.

On the first page, Genesect's thread is stopping Mewtwo from moving. Mewtwo uses the move {{m|Psystrike}}. {{bp|Ash's Oshawott}} uses {{m|Water Gun}} and {{p|Feraligatr}} uses {{m|Hydro Pump}} to help put out the fire that surrounds the Red Genesect. {{p|Kirlia}}, {{p|Ralts}}, {{p|Sableye}}, {{p|Geodude}}, and {{p|Graveler}} help out as well. {{p|Persian}} uses the move {{m|Water Pulse}}. The Genesect Army tries to stop the Red Genesect, but it decides they've become its enemies and starts charging to attack them. 

During the battle, Mewtwo says "So you won't understand, no matter what...?!!", and uses {{m|Psychic}}. On the final page, Mewtwo says "Then come with me... To a place where nobody else exists..." and then carries Red Genesect into the sky.
