Nikkei, one of Japan's largest media corporations, reported this morning that a new, 4-inch screen DSi will be released in Japan soon, possibly be the end of the year. This DSi will sell for the same price as the current DSi: ¥18,900.

The new DSi will be 12.5% of the current DSi's screen (3.75 inches) and 25% of the DS and DS Lite's (3 inches). The new screen will be closer to the size of the PlayStation Portable's 4.3″ screen.

The Nintendo DSi is the second version of the Nintendo DS, after the DS Lite. The system was released in Japan on November 1, 2008, in Australia on April 2nd, 2009, in Europe on April 3rd, 2009, and in the United States on April 5th, 2009.
