A new animated series called Pokémon Generations is set to launch on the official Pokémon YouTube channel. The series will consist of shorts lasting three to five minutes. It will begin with its first two episodes on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 4 p.m. UTC. Episodes will be released every week until Friday, December 23, 2016, for a total of 18 episodes.
Pokémon Generations will highlight key moments in the first six generations of the core series games, from Kanto to Kalos. Characters that are set to appear include Red, Blue, Giovanni, Lorelei, Bruno, Lance, Cyrus, Looker, Cheryl, N, Ghetsis, Professor Sycamore, Lysandre, and AZ.
Several pieces of concept art from Pokémon Generations have also been revealed. These include early drawings of N, Team Plasma Grunts, and Professor Sycamore, as well as shots of Viridian Forest, Relic Castle, and Lumiose City.
