Two weeks ago, Nintendo released {{bp|Pokémon X and Y}} simultaneously across the globe. Unfortunately though, some users experienced a flitch when they saved their games in {{bp|Lumiose City}}'s various Avenues, where the game's controls would be unresponsive upon loading a save file, leaving the only course of action to be to delete a save file. Nintendo were quick to acknowledge the issue and released a map of where it is safe and where it isn't safe to save without risking setting off the glitch while promising that a more permanent solution, a software patch, was in the works.

Today, Nintendo have released that patch worldwide. A 227 block update for each version is available for free from the Nintendo eShop digital store. If a copy of either game is in your console at the time of accessing the eShop (either with the Game Card in the slot, or a digital copy on an SD card) you will automatically be prompted to download the update. As well as fixing the infamous Lumiose City glitch, this patch also fixes a minor GTS bug where using a filter may have resulted in an error message.
