This competition will use the Single Battle format. All Pokémon can be used (including Pokémon transferred via Poké Transporter), except Arceus and Special Legendary Pokémon. Duplicate Pokémon and duplicate items are allowed. Pokémon may hold Mega Stones and Z-Crystals. Three of the up to six registered Pokémon will be used in each battle (players must register at least three Pokémon to participate). Every Pokémon will be automatically set to level 100 for this tournament.

Players can register between midnight UTC on August 17 and 11:59 p.m. UTC on August 24, 2017. The competition will run from midnight UTC on August 25 until 11:59 p.m. UTC on August 27, 2017. All participants that participate in at least one battle will receive 50 Battle Points.

Players born in 2002 or later will be in the Junior/Senior Division. Players born in 2001 or earlier will be in the Master Division. Junior/Senior Division players can only battle between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. local time. The rankings will be announced some time in September 2017.

Each battle will last a maximum of 10 minutes. Players will have 90 seconds to pick the four Pokémon they will use for each battle, and 30 seconds to decide whether to switch Pokémon or use a move each turn. Participants may battle 15 times a day for a maximum of 45 battles.
