Pokémon.com, the official Pokémon Web site run by Nintendo of America, has added a special tenth anniversary section to commemorate the anniversary of the release of Pokémon Red and Green in Japan. The site includes polls, trivia, a gallery and a timeline of Pokémon history.

The timeline traces the Pokémon franchise from its original Game Boy release in February 1996 to its anime debut in 1997 to the release of Pokémon Gold and Silver in 2000 to the present.

The site also features a list of the "Top 10 Best Dressed" characters in Pokémon, a poll asking visitors to vote for their favorite Gym Leader, year-by-year trivia and year-by-year images.

Visitors who are able to answer three or nine consecutive trivia questions correctly depending on which trivia game is played are awarded with a commemorative desktop wallpaper.

The gallery feature of the site provides an erroneous piece of trivia. The 1997 picture says Gary Oak's Japanese name is Shigerui. His real Japanese name is Shigeru.

The tenth anniversary section of Pokémon.com can be reached by visiting the main Web site at pokemon.com.
