Update:  The patches in both Pokémon X and Y and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire created a glitch which would cause international Random Matches in the Battle Spot to crash after selecting team members. The glitch seems to be related to the Pokémon names being in different languages, as the Battle Spot was modified where the nicknames of Pokémon would display rather than the names of their species. This fixed the glitch, but this is only a temporary fix; no additional software patches need to be installed for it to take into effect.

Patches for Pokémon X and Y and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have been released. These patches are required for online play. The patches for Pokémon X and Y bring to games up to Version 1.4, while the patches for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire bring the games up to Version 1.3.

The patch notes only mention non-specific bug fixes; it has not yet been determined which bugs this patch fixes.

There are separate patches for each game; for example, the Pokémon X patch cannot be applied to Pokémon Y nor Pokémon Omega Ruby.
