London-based anime distributor Manga Entertainment announced plans to release Pokémon: Indigo League on DVD and Blu-ray formats in the United Kingdom, marking the first time episodes of the Pokémon anime has been available on home video in the region since Warner Bros.' original VHS releases (which only included the first 33 episodes).

Launching on October 30, 2017, the Season 1 Collection will include episodes 1-52 in English dubbed-only format. The DVD will contain 8 discs and have an SRP of £39.99, while the Blu-ray will have 5 discs and an SRP of £59.99. The Blu-ray release includes HD remastered episodes, presumably the same masters as are available via digital distribution.

Previously, Manga Entertainment have released several of the franchise's movies on DVD and Blu-ray, including Hoopa and the Clash of Ages, Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, and a triple pack of Pokémon the First Movie, Pokémon the Movie 2000 and Pokémon 3: The Movie (which will be released individually next month).

This will be the first time episodes of the English dub of the Pokémon anime will be available on Blu-ray anywhere in the world. This season is set to be released on Blu-ray in the United States on November 14, 2017.
