Pokémon Emerald reached the No. 5 spot on the overall video game charts in the United Kingdom one day after its continent-wide release, according to the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association.

The game, which was released in Europe on Oct. 21, reached No. 5 on the overall game chart, which tracks games for all platforms. It was No. 1 on the Game Boy Advance chart. The charts tracked sales over a one-week period, and were made available on Oct. 22. Pokémon Emerald's rankings represent only one day of sales.

The release came after what was deemed by many to be a lengthy wait for a game the rest of the world had already obtained. The game was released in Japan on Sept. 16, 2004, and in the United States on May 1.
