With the first Pokémon GO Safari Zone events being held on September 16, details about the events have been announced.

At each Pokémon GO Safari Zone event, players will receive an in-game medal and special 2 km Eggs from the various PokéStops found at each of these shopping centers. Lure Modules will be activated all day at each PokéStop at the event. The normally Australia-exclusive Kangaskhan will appear at the event, as will the rare Pokémon Chansey and Larvitar. Additionally, the announcement also specifically mentions that players might be able to find Shiny Pikachu, Shiny Magikarp, and various Unown. Gym and Raid Battles will not be possible at these shopping centers during the events.

Players will soon be able to reserve free, nontransferable tickets for each of the Pokémon GO Safari Zone events that will be held on September 16. To receive the QR Code required for participation, the person who claims the ticket must be over the age of 13 and be present with a valid photo ID. Even players who do not have tickets will be able to catch some of the Pokémon found at the Safari Zone events in the same city as the shopping center.

The Pokémon GO Safari Zone events will also offer the team lounges for players to meet up at. Attendees will also receive Trainer kits for joining the day's Pokémon-catching activities. Throughout each of the participating shopping centers, special offers for Pokémon GO players will be available in select stores.
