A {{bp|Pokémon GO}} event will be run in {{wp|Chester}} in the United Kingdom from July 22 to 23, 2017. This event is being run in collaboration with [http://bigheritage.co.uk Big Heritage], the UK heritage organization.

From July 22 to 23, 2017 (the weekend of the Chester Heritage Festival), events will be staged across Chester, including activities based at {{wp|Chester Castle}}, which will be open to the public for the first time in 20 years. The event is described as including trail activities, with in-game and real-world "surprises".

Historical sites in Chester will be turned into {{bp|PokéStop}}s. Big Heritage will also work with schools across the {{wp|Cheshire}} and {{wp|Merseyside}} regions starting in September 2017 to encourage young people to explore and learn about their local area by playing Pokémon GO.
