Last Saturday saw Pokémon Trading Card Game players from across the United Kingdom gather at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham to take part in the National Championships, to try and earn their place at the World Championships in Vancouver this August. While information on the Junior Division is currently unavailable, we do know that Robert Kinbrum managed to win the title of UK Champion for the Masters Division with DTK, a deck featuring the Team Plasma Pokémon Deoxys-EX, Thundurus-EX, and Kyurem. Meanwhile, the Senior Division winner was Sam T., who used RayEels, a deck featuring the cards Rayquaza-EX, Eelektrik, Keldeo-EX and Tropical Beach.

The Top 4 in each age division earned themselves an invite to the World Championships (with the Top 2 receiving paid trips), with the full list of the talented qualifying players from the two age divisions being:

Masters Division:

  • Winner: Robert Kinbrum
  • Runner up: Sami Sekkoum
  • Semi-Finalists:
    • Ben Armstead
    • Jake Walvin

Seniors Division:

  • Winner: Sam T.
  • Runner up: James L.
  • Semi-Finalists:
    • Rhys W.
    • Thomas R.
