The schedule of events for the 2010 Pokémon World Championships has been officially announced.

This year the championships will be held in Waikoloa, Hawaii at the Waikoloa Village. The opening ceremony will be on Saturday, August 14, at 9:00AM Hawaiian Standard Time (HST). This will be followed by various fun events including poolside activities and other competitions, with the final rounds scheduled for August 15. The closing ceremonies will follow, at 5:30PM HST.

Not all the contestants have qualified for the competition yet. While most of the competitors qualified through their performance at their National Championships or previous World Championships, there remains one "Last Chance" position in each of the TCG and video games categories. This will be contested before the opening ceremony, on Friday, August 13.

The Pokémon World Championships is an annual event for the world's best Pokémon video game and TCG players. It is invitation-only. 2010 will be the seventh year of competitions.
