Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl will begin airing in high definition in April, according to TV Tokyo. Also, the fourth ending theme to the DP series, Get Fired up, Notched-ear Pichu 「もえよギザみみピチュー」, will debut in April, according to the song's artist, Shokotan.

Notched-ear Pichu

The anime has aired in 4:3 aspect ratio since its debut in 1997. Since early Advanced Generation it has been broadcast digitally, although not being produced in full HD resolution, thus appearing slightly blurry to viewers of TV Tokyo's HD programme. The conversion to HD will change the aspect ratio to 16:9. Pokeani notes that Pokémon is relatively late in converting to HD in comparison to other anime series.

Thanks to Aura-Knight for the tip.
