Previous reports that Pokémon Diamond and Pearl sold out two million copies Thursday have been deemed false, according to four-day sales figures that put the total Japanese retail at 1,575,266 games sold. Diamond sold 813,237 copies, and Pearl sold 762,029. These numbers reportedly do not include sales conducted online.

By comparison, Pokémon Gold and Silver sold 1,425,768 copies its first week, while Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire sold 1,245,003, according to Famitsu. Pokémon Emerald has sold 1.8 million copies in its entire Japanese run.
