The {{bp|DP188|188th episode}} of the ''{{series|Diamond & Pearl|Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl}}'' anime series, 「決着ライバルバトル！サトシ対シンジ！！」 ''Conclusion of Rival Battle! Satoshi vs Shinji!!'', is set to air on Aug. 19, 2010. The episode will conclude the {{bp|Pokémon battle|clash}} between the protagonist, {{bp|Ash Ketchum|Satoshi}}, and his current rival, {{bp|Paul|Shinji}}. This battle is a part of the {{bp|Suzuran Conference}} and will span a total of {{bp|DP186|three}} {{bp|DP187|episodes}}.

For this battle, these two {{pkmn|Trainer}}s have made necessary changes to their teams. While Satoshi has mainly<!--not only--> used Pokémon he caught in previous {{bp|region}}s, such as {{bp|Ash's Quilava|Magmarashi}} and {{bp|Ash's Donphan|Donfan}}, in his earlier battles, it appears he will be using the Pokémon he traveled with in {{bp|Sinnoh|Shin'ō}}, such as {{bp|Ash's Buizel|Buoysel}} and the returning {{bp|Ash's Gliscor|Glion}}, for his battle against Shinji. On the other hand, Shinji will be using several of his Pokémon Satoshi had never battled before, such as {{p|Aggron|Bossgodora}} and {{p|Gastrodon|Toritodon}}.
