{{bp|Pikipedia}}, which focuses on the Pikmin series of games, and {{bp|Pikcanon-NOT}}, which focuses on the fanon of the Pikmin series, have both joined the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance to become the eighth member of it. Both wikis were once a branch of Wikia, but gained independence at the same domain with the help of [[smw:Main Page|Super Mario Wiki]] head [[smw:User:Porplemontage|Porplemontage]]. Pikipedia was founded in the beginning of December, 2005 and Pikcanon-NOT was founded in November, 2008.

NIWA, short for {{bp|Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance}}, is a group of Nintendo-based wikis that vow to stay free from wiki farms such as Wikia. It started with {{bp|Bulbapedia}}, {{bp|Zelda Wiki}}, and {{bp|Super Mario Wiki}}, and grew later to become six wikis. The second of three wikis to join NIWA in October, Pikipedia and Pikcanon-NOT were preceded by {{bp|Lylat Wiki}}, which joined last week. Next week, another wiki is set to join.
