A new trailer for {{bp|Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon}} has revealed various details about the game.

The trailer shows off the new {{bp|Poké Ride}} {{p|Mantine}} Surf, which allows the player to travel between islands. It also serves as a minigame in which the player competes for a high score by pulling off different cool moves.

The {{bp|island challenge}} returns in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, but the trials differ from {{bp|Pokémon Sun and Moon}}.
*{{bp|Regional variant|Alolan}} {{p|Marowak}} is the {{bp|Totem Pokémon}} of the {{bp|Wela Volcano Park}}.
*{{bp|Mallow}}'s trial in {{bp|Lush Jungle}} appears to involve searching {{p|Sudowoodo}} for particular items. It appears that {{p|Lurantis}} remains the {{bp|Totem Pokémon}}.
*What is implied to be {{bp|Sophocles}}'s trial involves a mechanical {{p|Vikavolt}}.
*What is implied to be {{bp|Acerola}}'s trial involves a Acerola yelling at the player to get out of the {{bp|Thrifty Megamart (Abandoned Site)}}.
*{{bp|Mina}} now has a trial. It is implied that battling her is part of the trial.

More than 400 Pokémon will appear in the Alola region in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, in contrast to the 302 that appeared in the {{bp|List of Pokémon by Alola Pokédex number|Alola Pokédex}} of Pokémon Sun and Moon. Many Pokémon that did not appear in Pokémon Sun and Moon will appear in the new games; these include {{p|Mareep}}, {{p|Houndoom}}, {{p|Tropius}}, {{p|Manectric}}, {{p|Larvesta}}, {{p|Volcarona}}, {{p|Tyranitar}}, and {{p|Zorua}}.

Houndoom and Alolan Vulpix will be exclusive to Pokémon Ultra Sun, while Manectric and Alolan Sandshrew will be exclusive to Pokémon Ultra Moon.
