Dengeki revealed the titles of two episodes that will air March 18 on TV Tokyo. 「飛べシェイミ!空の彼方へ!!」 Fly Shaymin! To the Far Side of the Sky!! and 「ポケモンレンジャー!ヒードラン救出作戦!!」 Pokémon Ranger! Heatran Rescue Mission!! will be the 168th and 169th episodes of Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl.

The 168th episode will feature Mai, a character who made her first appearance in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. In the episode, she talks about a stone in Route 224 and the Pokémon Shaymin.

The next episode is about a Pokémon Ranger mission featuring Heatran. It will involve the appearance of Natsuya, the male playable character in the upcoming game Pokémon Ranger: Locus of Light. It has also been reported that two special Ranger episodes will air on Pokémon Sunday on Feb. 28 and March 7. These episodes are anime adaptations of the game's plot, somewhat similar to how the stories of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games have been told through three anime specials.

Shaymin and Heatran are two of the four Pokémon that players can obtain in the third Pokémon Ranger game. These can be transferred to any of the five Generation IV games. Along with that, the episodes will feature the anime debut appearances of both Pokémon, Shaymin and Heatran. Shaymin first appeared in Giratina and the Bouquet of Sky: Shaymin while Heatran first appeared in the twelfth Pokémon movie.
