English version of XD announced

Pokemon XD to be released in October 2005 in North America

The English title and North American release date of Pokémon XD has been announced during the Pre-E3 Nintendo Conference. "Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness" will be released in October 2005 in North America. The release date for Japan has been confirmed as August 4th.

Nintendo have promised a "dark and sinister" plot for the game, a "serious plot, because Pokémon is serious business." While some fans have expressed reservations over this, given similar promises made regarding Pokémon Colosseum which some mature fans feel were not kept, it is impossible to know at this point what the plot actually is, and thus impossible to actually comment on its maturity level. One can safely speculate, however, that once again, the plot will involve "snagging" dark Pokémon and purifying them.

Additionally, Nintendo of America has released a number of new screenshots. Several previously released screenshots have also been released in a higher resolution.
