New Tecmo Koei Senior Vice President hints at Pokémon Conquest sequel
In 2012, The Pokémon Company and Tecmo Koei collaborated on Pokémon Conquest (known in Japan as Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition), a turn based strategy RPG crossover between the Pokémon and Nobunaga's Ambition video game series'. The game was quite a departure for the Pokémon series, being set in the Ransei region and focusing on the hero, a new Warlord who was tasked with conquering the 17 kingdoms of Ransei in order to stop the rise of Nobunaga.
Recently, a user on Twitter asked the new Senior Vice President of Tecmo Koei, Hisashi Koinuma, whether a sequel to the game will ever happen. His reply was a rather cryptic statement that there was a lot of unfinished material for the original game.
Siliconera, who reported on the story, also note that according to Inside-games, Tsunekazu Ishihira, the President and CEO of The Pokémon Company, is a huge fan of the Nobunaga's Ambition series and wouldn't rule out the possibility of a sequel if there's enough demand and enthusiasm from fans.
