Back in fall 2013, Italian manga publisher J-POP e GP Manga announced at the Lucca Comics and Games comic book convention that they would be publishing the Black & White chapter of the Pokémon Adventures manga in Italian with the title Pokémon Nero e Bianco. Although originally projected for a May 2014 release date, the volume has now been confirmed on Amazon Italy as a release of August 27, 2014 with an ISBN of 8866349259. The new Italian volumes are translated from VIZ Media's Pokémon Black and White mini-volumes and are thus based on the magazine version, rather than the volume version.

This will be the first Pokémon manga to be released in Italian language in over a decade. Previously, Italian publisher Planet Manga translated the first ten monthly issues of the Pokémon Adventures manga with the title Pokémon: Le Grandi Storie a Fumetti. They also translated the first two monthly issues of Magical Pokémon Journey as Il magico viaggio dei Pokémon. Additionally, Italian publisher Play Press Publishing translated all five volumes of the Pokémon Gotta Catch 'Em All manga as the title Pokémon.
