Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, a remake of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, has been announced for release on Nintendo Switch on March 6, 2020 in Japan, North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The game was revealed during a Pokémon Direct presentation.

The games have a brand-new visual style, resembling the artwork seen in the background of the original games' menu screens. Mega Evolution, a mechanic introduced long after the original games' release, will also appear in the remake. Additionally, Lucario—a Pokémon who only appeared in the original games as a statue—was shown as a Pokémon in the trailer.

A demo for the game is currently available for download from the Nintendo eShop. Progress in the demo can be transferred to the final game.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team were the first games in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. They were originally released in Japan in 2005 and in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand in 2006. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team was released for Game Boy Advance while Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team was released for Nintendo DS. In addition to user interface differences due to being released on different systems, the two games had game-exclusive Pokémon, among other minor differences.
