The Sinnoh Classic Wi-Fi tournament has been announced. Registration will be between midnight UTC on July 14 and 11:59 p.m. UTC on July 21. The competition will run from midnight UTC on July 22 until 11:59 p.m. UTC on July 24. 50,000 spots will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The results will be announced in August. Participants born in or after 2001 will be in the Junior/Senior Division. Players born in or before 2000 will be in the Master Division. Junior Division players may only play from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. local time.

Participants may only use the first 493 Pokémon in the National Pokédex. The following Pokémon may also not be used - Dragonite, Mewtwo, Mewtwo, Tyranitar, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Heatran, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus. This competition will be using the 4-on-4 Double Battles format. Pokémon brought over from the Generation V games may be used. Players may battle using the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games. No Mega Stones can be held by any Pokémon. All Pokémon above level 50 will be automatically set to level 50. Each battle will last a maximum of 60 minutes. Players will have 60 seconds to choose the four Pokémon, and 60 seconds to choose an attack or switch Pokémon each turn. Players may battle 10 times a day for a maximum of 30 battles.

Participants will receive Cynthia's Garchomp, which was used in the Generation IV games. It is level 66, and has the Ability Sand Veil. Its OT is Cynthia and it has the moves Dragon Rush, Brick Break, Giga Impact and Earthquake.
