I like the idea of a light type.  I've hoped for one since the original gold/silver... But I don't think it's happening.  Psychic is the equivalent of a "light" type, as evidenced in the Eeveelution Espeon.  Also, additional types is a major change that the creators will hesitate to make this late in the series.  Steel and Dark were previously introduced in Gen. II, but that was a unique transition time- Most of the major obvious changes we think about from the originals to the present happened in gold and silver.  Certainly, changes have been made in the third and fourth generations, and will continue to be made, but in my opinion, nothing on the scale of another type.  The largest change I could possibly imagine in the future would be something like an ability for Pokémon to hold two items at once, and that only because of the recent rising importance of held items.  So, sad to say, I do not see a light type in the future. {{unsigned|Nekron}}
