On April 15, 2012 Japan time, {{bp|Junichi Masuda}} and Umino Takao, who will be directing the new games, made a special appearance on {{bp|Pokémon Smash}}. With them they brought a copy of {{bp|Pokémon Black 2 Version}} which the hosts of Smash were allowed to premier to the audience. The gameplay featured the intro video to the game, as well as the female trainer obtaining her first Pokémon and battling against the rival trainer. The gameplay also revealed new animations for Pokémon, as well as the new environments. Also featured on Smash was a battle featuring Black {{p|Kyurem}} against {{p|Reshiram}}.

They then announced the three new characters, Akuroma, Homika, and Shizui. Along side this news was a short trailer featuring Homika's debut in the anime this June, where she is shown to own a {{p|Koffing}}.

After the guests returned backstage, host {{bp|Shoko Nakagawa}} made a personal announcement; she will be voicing the title Pokémon, {{p|Keldeo}}, in the {{bp|M15|upcoming fifteenth film}}.

They also featured a late reveal of {{p|Meloetta}}'s Pirouette Forme, a few days after she was officially revealed on {{bp|Oha Suta}}.
